Initial Assessment

Consultation

Marion will visit your garden for about one hour, assess the site to get an overview of what you the client is looking for and the scope of the project

Concept Drawing

Following the initial Consultation Marion will follow up with an email of ideas and suggestions for garden works, a Concept Drawing and Terms of Engagement.

Design Phase

Feedback and conversations between Marion and the client result in re-drawings of the concept drawing which are presented to the client, along with a Moodboard of suggested hard and soft landscaping materials. A final Design is agreed and a set of Drawings prepared and finalised for a builder or landscape contractor to build from. Marion will also provide a cost estimate at this stage so the client can get a handle on projected costs.

Build Phase

There are two approaches to the build phase - it can be managed by Marion or the client works solely with the contractor. In the latter case Marion will meet the contractor on site to mark out the drawings and then follow up with another 2 visits during the build. If this occurs the contractor assumes responsibility for the job. Marion can recommend a contractor to the client who is fully insured, competent and wholly reliable. The contractor will visit the site (in most cases) and will provide a Quotation before any work commences.

Planting Phase

The Planting phase is generally undertaken by a planting contractor / gardener. On occasion, a client requires a Planting Plan and carries out the planting themselves or at a later stage. This is a stand-alone piece of work and usually is not required if the client goes for the Full Design.

Sometimes a Planting Map is required after the job so the client can identify each plant. It is not always required which is why there is a separate cost involved.

Follow Up

A Maintenance Plan can be provided to the client when the job is completed. Or a Maintenance contract can be taken out with Marion’s team.

In some cases a Design is not required and instead Marion will provide a Job Monitoring Service. This includes a series of services provided - providing sub-contractors, various design decisions, some sketches, some small scale plans, numerous visits over a period of months to oversee the various sub-contractors, ongoing communication with the client, budgeting, pricing various components of a job.
